About Nana Carol

CAROL BRYDEN
Creator of Nana Carols Childcare
I would like to describe myself as warm, kind, caring and fun loving person. My career in childcare started when I was working as a family support worker in the community and various childcare assessment settings. Assisting young mums childcare skills and meeting their babies needs. I enrolled in university and qualified as a Social Worker. After graduation I worked for various Local Authorities in children, and families, fostering and adoption, looked after children teams. During my Social Worker career, I expanded my learning, and graduated as a Qualified Counsellor. I combined my counselling and social work skills and together it gave me a more of an opportunity of working with children and families gaining invaluable experience formed professional relationships
I ceased working for the Local Authority and transferred my skills into a childcare setting, as Head of Unit in an early years setting managing a team of upto six staff and 16 babies aged from 3 months and in accordance to the Early Years Foundation (EYFS). As Head of Unit my role was to ensure that the babies education, social emotional and physical needs are being met.
Promotion to Senior Educator working alongside the Nursery Manager running the day to day activities of the nursery, safeguarding children, plan, organise, and implement Early Years Curriculum for the nursery.
After five years of working in an early years setting I made the decision to become self employed Childminder. I am now an Ofsted Registered childminder since October 2020.
I look forward to working with you and your child and watching them grow whilst learning through play, having the opportunity to be imaginative, express themselves and have fun in a safe environment.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Learning is natural
Young children have lively minds from the start. We strive to make the most of this natural quality by enabling them to experience, investigate, care about others, interact, develop and create. I strive to deepen and strengthen children’s natural abilities by providing them with the healthiest environment possible.
